Tony DeGregorio, affectionately known to the George Mason University community as Mr. D, passed away in November 2019 but his memory, spirit, and love for Mason—a place that was such an integral part of his life—live on. The family of Mr. D designated Mason’s Health and Physical Education program within the School of Education, where he was an instructor for nearly 30 years, to receive the memorial gifts made in his memory.

Jump! The benefit of massage before physical activity

 

Sports medicine professionals and exercise science specialists, including School of Kinesiology's Debra Stroiney, believe that certain warm-up practices before vigorous physical activity can reduce the risk of muscle injuries. Read more.

 

Making science fun for kids

 

Children are natural scientists. They are curious, love to explore, and ask a lot of questions. Kids need opportunities to develop the skills they need to think like a scientist, which will allow them to understand increasingly complex science concepts. They also need to have positive experiences to foster positive dispositions toward science (i.e., not think it is scary or boring). Making science fun is easy!  Learn how.

School of Kinesiology faculty selected as AKA Leadership Institute Fellow

 

Debra Stroiney, associate professor in the School of Kinesiology, was selected to be one of the American Kinesiology Association's Leadership Institute fellows. Congratulations, Dr. Stroiney!
